Police seek cellphone images from Frederick High School shooting

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Police in Frederick are asking for cellphone video and photos taken at Frederick High School around the time of a shooting there last week that wounded two teenage boys.

Lt. Clark Pennington said Monday the images could help investigators identify four males who witnesses say briefly entered the gymnasium shortly before the shooting Wednesday night. A junior varsity basketball game was in progress against crosstown rival Gov. Thomas Johnson High.

Two boys, ages 14 and 15, are recovering from gunshot wounds. One was released from the hospital last week. Pennington says the other remains hospitalized.

An interdenominational prayer service was held in response to the shooting Sunday. The Frederick News-Post reports that it drew more than 200 people.
