Police searching for person who vandalized DC traffic camera
WASHINGTON - Police are looking to identify a person of interest in the vandalism of a traffic camera in Southeast D.C. nearly two weeks ago.
D.C. police say the traffic camera was found damaged after officers responded to the 3700 block of Southern Avenue at around 1 a.m. on April 12. Investigators have determined it was damaged due to vandalism.
Police have released photos taken from a nearby surveillance camera of the person of interest along with a dark-colored Hyundai Santa Fe SUV believed to be connected to the vandalism.
Two months ago, nearly a dozen speed cameras were damaged across the city.
