Police: Man shot in Northeast DC neighborhood

Police are investigating after a man was shot in Northeast D.C. Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the 1500 block of Eckington Place, NE, at around 3:51 p.m.

Police say the man was unconscious and unresponsive before he was transported to the hospital in "very grave" condition.

Police say they are looking for a person of interest who they describe as a black man reportedly wearing a black sweatshirt, grey sweatpants and black shoes. He was last seen heading westbound on Harry Thomas Way, NE, following the shooting.
