Police: Man exchange gunfire with officers in Maryland

(AP) -- Police say a man has been taken into custody after exchanging gunfire with police outside a home in Glen Burnie.

Anne Arundel County Police tell local news media outlets that the man called 911 late Tuesday and said he had a gun. After officers arrived at the home, police say the man came outside and pointed a rifle at officers.

Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure says police believe the man fired first and the officers returned fire. The man's identity has not been released.

Police say the man, a neighbor and an officer sustained minor injuries. Police say the man and neighbor both had upper body injuries and the officer had a minor injury to the top of his hand.

It was not immediately clear how the three were injured.
