WHEATON, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Police are searching for a suspect after they say he pulled an officer into his vehicle and drove off during a traffic stop in Montgomery County, officials say.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police say the officer pulled over a blue Honda Accord at around 4:05 p.m. Tuesday on northbound Georgia Avenue at Epping Drive. After the suspect pulled the officer into the car during the traffic stop, he drove several blocks before stopping the vehicle and fleeing on foot towards Hathaway Drive.
Authorities searched the area for the suspect, but they were unable to locate him.
The officer was also able to get out of the vehicle and did not suffer any major injuries, police say.
Drugs and ammunition were found inside the suspect's car, according to officials.
Police say the suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall with an average build and slight facial hair. He was wearing a black and blue jacket and blue jeans.
