Police looking for person of interest in fatal hit-and-run

WASHINGTON - The Metropolitan Police Department's Major Crash Unit is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle of interest and a person of interest in connection with a hit and run traffic fatality of a pedestrian.

On Friday, August 21, 2015, at approximately 6:10 pm a vehicle, which was traveling in a northeastern direction in the 1300 block of Southern Avenue, SE struck a pedestrian. Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

The striking vehicle of interest is described as a newer model black Chevrolet Tahoe.
