Police investigate homicide in Old Town Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in Old Town Alexandria. Officers found the man Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Colonial Avenue near Powhatan Park.

Investigators say they were called to investigate a call for shots fired and found the man with trauma to the upper body. The 41-year-old victim has not been identified at this time.

Detectives have not released a motive or a description of suspects in the case.
