Police investigate after 5 shot overnight in the District
WASHINGTON - Police say five people were shot in three separate shooting incidents over the span of a few hours overnight in the District.
The first happened just before midnight in the 3500 block of Stanton Road in the Southeast. Officers say two men were shot at the scene and hospitalized.
Investigators say that around 1:25 a.m. two men were shot in the 100 block of Ivanhoe Street in the Southwest. Those two men were also hospitalized.
Officers then responded to the 1000 block of Southern Avenue in the Southeast where a man was shot. Police say the victim is in critical condition at this time. Southern Avenue was closed in both directions at Wheeler Road for several hours.
Authorities have no suspect information or motives in any of the shootings.
