Police in DC, Virginia searching for missing 78-year-old man suffering from cognitive impairment
WASHINGTON - Police are searching for a critically missing 78-year-old man last seen in Northwest D.C. and Virginia earlier this week.
D.C. police first issued a release about the disappearance of James Oliver after he was last seen at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 5100 block of Connecticut Avenue.
One day later, Virginia State Police issued a Senior Alert on behalf of D.C. police after Oliver was sighted several hours later at around 3 p.m. in Arlington, Virginia walking near the intersection of North Wakefield Drive and 24th Street.
"He suffers from a cognitive impairment, and his disappearance is believed to pose a credible threat to his health and safety," Virginia State Police said.
Oliver is described as a white male with a fair complexion. He is 6-feet-tall, 190 pounds with blue eyes and gray hair. He was last seen wearing a blue blazer, a silver shirt, pink tie and blue jeans.
