Police: Crash in Northeast DC linked to unarmed carjacking, 1 person detained

WASHINGTON - One person has been detained after a crash in Northeast D.C., which police say is related to an unarmed carjacking.

Police say the crash happened at Benning Rd. at Minnesota Ave NE.

Two women and an infant were in the car vehicle, according to the investigators. They say there were no visible injuries to the infant, who was taken to hospital as a precaution.

According to the District Department of Transportation, the intersection of Minnesota Ave and Benning Road was named 2017's 'Most Dangerous' intersection.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
