Police: Barricade situation over in Southeast DC

D.C. police say a barricade situation in a Eastern Market neighborhood in Southeast D.C. has ended.

Police say they received a call for an aggravated assault at around 2 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Kentucky Avenue.

FOX 5's Tisha Lewis reports officers and SWAT units were heavily armed with weapons drawn at the scene.

Residents in the area tell FOX 5 they have heard this may be a possible hostage situation.

Kentucky Avenue between C Street and South Carolina Avenue along with the 1500 block of Mississippi Avenue were closed due to the police activity.
