Police arrest man suspected of illegally opening fire hydrants in DC neighborhoods
WASHINGTON - A man suspected of illegally opening fire hydrants around neighborhoods in the District has been arrested, according to FOX 5's Evan Lambert.
Lambert said D.C. Police arrested a man found with a wrench matching the description of the suspect Monday night.
Lambert reports that police identified the man as 34-year-old Neema Kordestani.
Authorities have not released a motive at this time. On Monday, D.C. Water spokesperson Vincent Morris said the agency has gotten reports of between six and 15 hydrants that had been unscrewed and drained, most of them in neighborhoods in Northeast D.C. beginning Saturday.
