WALDORF, Md. - The Charles County Sheriff's Office said a 2-year-old boy was wounded by a self-inflicted gunshot inside a Waldorf apartment.
Charles County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Diane Richardson said they received a call Wednesday afternoon about a shot fired inside an apartment located in the 3000 block of Patapsco Place.
According to Richardson, the boy's father heard a gun go off and found his son shot in the leg with a semi-automatic handgun.
The child was conscious and breathing and taken by helicopter to a local hospital. His injuries appears to be non-life-threatening, Richardson said.
