Pentagon to conduct 'Mass Casualty' exercise

Warning! If you plan to be around the Pentagon on Thursday - do not be alarmed!

Authorities will be conducting a "mass casualty" response exercise on Thursday morning near the Pentagon, they are warning locals that they may see an increased police presence in the area that day, and that commutes may be affected. This will all be due to the drill.

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) posted to social media this week to warn citizens of the exercise, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Northside of the Pentagon.

The exercise will involve a simulated helicopter crash and fire. The scenario may be visible from the Virginia State Highway Routes 27 and 110. The Pentagon says this is a way for first responders to test their skills.
