Pedestrian struck, killed by train in northeast DC

Train service in D.C. was disrupted after a pedestrian was struck and killed along a set of tracks in the northeast.

The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of New York Avenue.

Officials have not released the gender or age of the victim.

While both Amtrak and CSX trains share this area of track, officials cannot confirm which train struck the person.

MARC Train service was restored Thursday afternoon.
