One person has died after a serious crash involving four vehicles on the Inner Loop, according to Mark Brady with Prince George's County Fire and EMS.

Several people were trapped in their cars following the accident, which happened around 6:30 a.m. All of the victims were extricated by firefighters around 7:15 a.m. Of those who survived, Brady said one person has life-threatening injuries and two have non life-threatening injuries.

Traffic is being impacted on the Inner Loop prior to the Wilson Bridge, and the through lanes will remain closed for an "extended period of time," according to Brady. Drivers are being encouraged to avoid the area.
