One firefighter and 2 residents injured in a 2-alarm fire in DC

According to the fire department, the fire started Saturday night at a two story apartment building on the 3200 block of East Capital Street N.E.

On arrival firefighters encountered heavy fire from the first and second floors.

They quickly went to work and saved 3 residents.

During the battle with the fire, one firefighter was injured.

He was taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
