Off-duty DC police officer shot outside Detroit area club

D.C. police officials have confirmed that an off-duty Washington, D.C. police officer was hospitalized after being shot outside of a club near Detroit.

The off-duty officer was reportedly with a relative when they were shot during an attempted carjacking outside of the Pantheion Club, a nightclub in Dearborn, Michigan.

The two were able to drive themselves to a police precinct in Detroit. The off-duty office was then transported to a Detroit-area hospital.

It appears that the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

D.C. police have not provided a name or rank of the officer.

Detroit area police still have no suspects in the case.
