Northwest DC double shooting leaves teen dead

A double shooting in Northwest D.C. left one teen dead and a man injured Tuesday evening, according to authorities.

DC police said the shooting happened in the 1300 block of Rittenhouse Street, Northwest at about 8:15 p.m.

Officials said two men were shot. The teen, identified as 16-year-old Yoselis Regino Barrios, succumbed to his injuries. The male victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Detectives said a red sedan was being considered as a possible vehicle of interest, but they were still attempting to determine if it was connected to the shooting.

No motive or other information was available from officials.

The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person responsible for any homicide.
