Northern Virginia JCC defaced, swastikas spray painted on building

A Jewish Community Center was reportedly defaced with anti-Semitic graffiti early Saturday morning, according to Fairfax County police.

Officials say they are now investigating after the graffiti was found at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia in Annandale. Investigators say at around 8 a.m., they were called to the JCC at 8900 Little River Turnpike.

According to investigators, 19 swastikas were found spray-painted on the building's exterior.

David Yaffe, President of the Board of Directors says this has to stop.

"This is the second one that we've experienced. The first one was a year and a half ago in April of 2017. We were shocked then. We're profoundly disappointed now at this vandalism," he said.

Police say surveillance video captured images of a suspect spray-painting the building around 4:30 a.m.

Detectives are reviewing evidence collected at the scene and are working diligently in hopes of identifying the suspect and placing charges.

Fairfax County police say anyone with information is asked to contact them at (703) 256-8035.
