NO REMATCH: Vincent Gray will not run for DC mayor against Muriel Bowser

D.C. Councilmember Vincent Gray will not run for mayor against Muriel Bowser in the Democratic primary.

FOX 5's Marina Marraco has confirmed there will not be a rematch in the June primary between Gray and Bowser after she defeated Gray four years ago amid allegations of wrongdoing during his 2010 campaign. The U.S. Attorney's Office declined to file charges after a nearly five-year investigation and dropped the case.

Gray, the Ward 7 council member and former mayor of the District from 2011 to 2015, will instead focus on what he calls a "health care crisis" facing the city, according to Gray's political adviser Chuck Theis.
