No evidence of shooting at evacuated Delaware mall, police say

Delaware State Police say there's no evidence of gunfire at a mall where officers responded to reports of shots fired.

A police official said Friday night that nobody is injured at the Christiana Mall, where the sound of shots fired was reported by multiple people.

Officers had been at the mall for regularly scheduled security assignments when the reports came in. The mall was evacuated, and some stores were placed on lockdown as officers secured the area.

Police say there are no known suspects, victims or indications that gunfire occurred.

There was a report of a physical altercation at the mall, but police are still investigating whether that's related to the calls about shots fired.

The mall remains closed to the public except for people attempting to find family.
