Nick Cannon enrolls at Howard University

Classes are starting back up at schools across the country and Howard University in Washington D.C. has a very high-profile student taking classes this fall.

Actor, rapper, television host and comedian Nick Cannon posted an Instagram photo for his 1.6 million followers showing himself standing in front of a Howard University sign announcing that he has enrolled at the historically black university.

Cannon wrote on the post: "YOU KNOW!!!!! #HU2020 My First Day as a Freshman!!! Howard University Class of 2020"

It appears he is flying back and forth across the country in order to receive his education, posting another photo of himself on a flight saying, "Turning these Airplanes into School Buses! #FirstDayWave #BeNcredible"

Before becoming a star in the entertainment world, the 35-year-old ex-husband of Mariah Carey graduated high school in California back in 1998. It's unknown what Cannon plans on studying at Howard.

News of Cannon's enrollment at Howard drew many posts on social media referring to "Drumline," a 2002 film Cannon starred in. His character in the movie is about a young drummer attending a fictional history black college on a marching band scholarship.

Cannon's "Drumline" co-star Orlando Jones tweeted: "Just remember @NickCannon "You're on time if you're 5 minutes earlier, You're late if you're on time!" #OneBandOneSound PS - Congrats"

It appears Cannon is already fitting in with his fellow students at Howard.
