Mother documents struggle to raise 2-year-old daughter in infamous DC homeless shelter

One mother's fight to end the cycle of homelessness led to the making of a one-of-a-kind movie documenting her struggle.

"Street Sense" tells the story of Sasha Williams, a brave mother raising her 2-year-old daughter, Eboni, in one of D.C.'s most infamous and inhospitable shelters.

Williams kept an iPhone diary of their time living at the shelter.
