Mother, daughter who went missing over weekend found safely, police say

ASPEN HILL, Md. - Police say the mother and daughter who went missing over the weekend in Montgomery County have been safely found.

50-year-old Arlene Grant picked up her mother, 73-year-old Marie Grant, from her assisted-living home on Cairncross Terrace in Aspen Hill on Saturday. The two were to attend a family function after which Arlene was expected to take her mother home.

When the mother and daughter did not return, family members contacted police. Investigators said that Arlene had contacted family by text message prior to being located.

Authorities say the two were located safely on Monday around 10 a.m.
