Missing 13-year-old girl last seen in Bladensburg returns home safely
BLADENSBURG, Md. - UPDATE: Bladensburg police say Amy Palencia-Gonzalez returned home unharmed on Wednesday.
Police are asking for the public's help to find a missing 13-year-old girl last seen in Bladensburg.
Police say Amy Palencia-Gonzalez was visiting family in the 4100 block of 51st Street in Bladensburg at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when the teenager left the residence without her grandmother's permission.
The grandmother tried to chase after her granddaughter, but she was unable to catch up to the girl. Police say the grandmother saw Palencia-Gonzalez get into an unknown blue car driven by an unknown black male.
The 13-year-old also stole her grandmother's credit card, which has been used in the Silver Spring area, according to police.
Palencia-Gonzalez is a 7th grade student at Benjamin Banneker Middle School in Burtonsville.
