Metro: trains running normally despite weather

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says all trains are at or near their regular schedules despite freezing rain in the region, and buses should be running on a regular schedule.

Metro said on Twitter that trains were running normally on Monday, but it cautioned that platforms and escalators can be slippery and urged riders to used caution. Metro's Twitter feed announced late Sunday night that regular weekday bus service was planned for Monday.

A freezing rain advisory is in effect for the Washington region until 9 a.m.
