Metro single tracking after smoke seen near College Park

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- Metro trains are single tracking between the Prince George's Plaza and College Park stations after a train operator observed smoke.

Metro says in a statement that a green line train experienced a loss of power Monday around 2 p.m. as the train approached the College Park station. Metro says when power was reset the train operator reported smoke.

Metro says the train reversed and returned to Prince George's Plaza station where passengers were offloaded. Metro says there were no injuries and that officials are on scene investigating the issue.
