Meteor sighting captured by Washington Monument cam

WASHINGTON - A meteor that streaked across the sky over the East Coast earlier this week was captured by the camera at the top of one of D.C.'s most famous monuments.

NASA says that bright object seen in the video above (it can be seen coming down from the top to the bottom - then quickly disappears) is a meteor that zoomed over the mid-Atlantic this week.

It was captured by the Earth Cam that's at the top of the Washington Monument.

NASA says the meteor was seen streaking in the sky from North Carolina to Pennsylvania just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
