Meade High School under lockdown due to stabbing investigation: police

What we know:
The Anne Arundel County Police Department is on scene after reports of an incident around 10:09 a.m. that resulted in one student being transported to a hospital for further treatment. All students are being held in their classrooms on lockdown until further notice.
Police officials say they continue to search for any suspects involved in this incident. After receiving a report of a stabbing, administrators moved quickly and called for a lockdown of the school.
It is being reported that a 17-year-old male student was found injured in the hallway and immediately rushed to a hospital. There has yet to be a discovery of any weapon used in this incident. Officials say the student is conscious and alert.
"This school responded to the procedure of moving into a lockdown process to a tee, to what our textbooks dictate what they have to do," said Dr. Mark Bedell, Superintendent of Anne Arundel County Public Schools during a press conference on the incident.
According to authorities, no one is allowed in or out of the building at this time. Parents are advised not to come to the school as there still remains an ongoing investigation.
