Maryland man guilty of sexually soliciting minor, found with mattress and condoms in van

A Silver Spring man has been found guilty of sexually soliciting a minor after he propositioned two teen girls for oral sex in June.

Investigators say 34-year-old Daniel Dickson was apprehended while driving a van with a twin-sized mattress in the back, as well as condoms and men's body spray in the glove compartment.

According to authorities, Dickson approached two girls, 19 and 15-year-old sisters, near Loiderman Middle School on June 5, and propositioned them for oral sex.

Investigators say Dickson drove his car, a Mazda MPV van on the wrong side of the road, before getting out his car and approached the two teens.

He asked them if they wanted to perform oral sex on him and asked their ages. The two girls told the suspect that they were underage and that they would take his photo with their cell phones, but then he drove away.

One of the girls called police, while another used her phone to get a video of Dickson's car with his license plate and sent it to officers.

They told police that they had seen Dickson's van in the area before. The teens told police that had seen his car at least two mornings each week.

Dickson has been found guilty of one county of sexual solicitation of a minor, but court documents say police are also investigating an incident from 2013, when Dickson was suspected of propositioning a 17-year-old girl and he allegedly admitted to following girls around to pick them up. and wasn't going stop until someone told him to.

Investigators say Dickson told them he created a social media account to pick up girls.

He faces a maximum 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine with 5 years probation. He also faces mandatory registration as a sex offender for 25 years.
