Man wanted for murder of Southwest DC couple, should be considered armed and dangerous

Officials say a 33-year-old man who should be considered armed and dangerous is wanted for the murder of a DC couple over the weekend.

DC police say Alonzo Lewis is wanted for first-degree murder while armed in the homicides of 40-year old Jaquon Helm and 35-year old Venius Badgett.

DC Police say the husband and wife were both found suffering from gunshot wounds at the unit block of Galveston Street, Southwest, just after 10 p.m. Saturday.

DC Councilmember Trayon White says Jaquon Helm was an area football coach.

Detectives say Alonzo Lewis is a 33-year-old black male, 5-feet, 7-inches tall, 180 pounds, with dark brown eyes and twists in his hair.

Officials are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in DC.
