Man shot in foot after fight at nightclub in Montgomery County, police say

WHEATON, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A man was shot in the foot after a fight outside a nightclub in Montgomery County, police say.

Officers say the incident was reported at the Wheaton Lounge on Ennalls Avenue and Georgia Avenue just before 2 a.m. Monday morning as the nightclub was closing.

Police say an off-duty officer called in to report the fight and at some point the victim was shot.

According to the club's Instagram, there was a promoted event where bands were scheduled to perform.

Officers have no word on a suspect or motive.
