Shooting Near White House Early Monday
WASHINGTON - A man was injured in a shooting that happened just blocks from the White House early Monday morning.
The shooting was reported around 4:55 a.m. in the 1600 block of K Street in the northwest.
Police Search for Possible Suspect
Police say when they arrived, they located shell casings, but no shooting victim. A short time later a man arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg. He is being treated for what police call non-life threatening injuries.
Police are searching for a possible suspect wearing a white shirt and dark pants and driving away in a dark-colored vehicle.
