Man dies after NW DC shooting
WASHINGTON - Police say a man has died after being shot Friday night in Northwest D.C.
The shooting happened at around 7:44 p.m. in the 1800 block of Harvard Street. Officers arrived and found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 25 year-old Charles Antonio Welch, of Fort Washington, Maryland.
Police say they are searching for a black male between 30 to 40 years old. He was wearing a white shirt with blue shorts and was armed with a black handgun.
It is the 112th homicide in the District of Columbia this year.
