Man charged with groping woman at L'Enfant Plaza station

WASHINGTON - A man accused of groping a woman at the L'Enfant Plaza station in downtown Washington has been arrested, according to Metro police.

18-year-old Jose Francisco Pleitez of Lanham, Maryland, grabbed a woman's buttocks on a platform at the station on Wednesday night, according to officials.

Police say the woman chased Pleitez and officers joined the chase before catching him. He's been charged with misdemeanor sexual abuse.

They're looking into the possibility that Pleitez has abused other victims, according to officials.

Maryland court records show Pleitez is facing charges including assault, theft and malicious destruction of property. Records show he was arrested on Saturday and released after posting bond on Wednesday which was the same day as the groping on Metro.
