Man called 911, confessed to killing girlfriend in Silver Spring home, police say

Montgomery County police say a man is in custody after he called 911 to report he had killed his girlfriend inside their Silver Spring, Md. home Tuesday morning. The woman's body was found inside the home in the 11000 block of Bradbury Manor Court, in the White Oak area.

Police have now identified the man as 50-year-old Anthony Miguel Strong and the woman as 43-year-old Chaunya Michalyn Blackwell.

According to police, the call came in just before 7 a.m. Investigators say Strong told the 911 operator he had killed his girlfriend, and was making the call from outside the house. When officer's arrived, they found Blackwell's body inside the house.

Strong was taken into custody without incident.

The Blackwell's body was taken to the Medical Examiner's office, where the cause of death will be determined.

Police say the preliminary investigation shows Strong and Blackwell were dating, and they both lived in the home where the crime took place. The circumstances surrounding the homicide are still under investigation, police said.
