Malik Yoba surprised 'Empire' character Vernon Turner killed off at end of season 1
Malik Yoba, who recently played a character in the hit FOX show 'Empire', came to D.C. to toast a gala for the U.S. Academy -- and stayed over to visit our new GoodDayDC set in The Loft!
Possibly best known for his starring role in television's New York Undercover, Yoba has been a regular in TV and films since the 90s.
His most recent role was as Vernon Turner in the FOX hit 'Empire.' To his surprise, his character was killed off at the end of season one.
"I was surprised because I didn't know. I found out right before it happened. It wasn't like I shot the whole season aware that the character was going away," he said.
While his character may be gone, Yoba said he might be back with the show in some capacity next year.
We'll have to wait and see!
