Major lane closures on Arlington Memorial Bridge to begin Monday, continue till 2021

The Arlington Memorial Bridge will go from six lanes to three starting Monday.

In addition to the roadway, only one sidewalk will be in service.

According to the National Park Service, the change will be in place until rehabilitation work on the bridge is completed in 2021.

They say crews will work to install the new traffic pattern overnight from Sunday into Monday.

For the next two years, there will be one eastbound and one westbound lane, while the third will be reversible in order to accommodate rush-hour traffic.
