Loudoun County elementary school teacher arrested for being drunk, having open container at school

A 25-year-old female elementary school teacher in Loudoun County was arrested for public intoxication and having alcohol in her possession at school.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said school personnel informed a school resource officer at Sterling Elementary School just before 2 p.m. Friday about the teacher, Claire Bucher, being possibly intoxicated. After investigating, it was determined that she was drunk and had an open alcohol container inside the school.

Bucher was charged with being drunk in public and possessing or drinking an alcoholic beverage in a public school or on public school grounds during school hours, officials said.
