Logan Circle fire: Firefighter injured in high-rise blaze in Northwest DC

Emergency crews battled a two-alarm fire at a high-rise apartment building in Northwest D.C. on Thursday.

The fire was reported at about noon at a building near the intersection of 12th and Q streets in the Logan Circle area. Initial reports that two people were trapped inside were unfounded.

Smoke could be seen from all around the District as several FOX 5 viewers took to social media to share photos and videos.

One firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion while battling the blaze and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Crews were able to bring the fire under control and most of the damage appeared to be concentrated toward the fourth floor and roof.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
