WASHINGTON -- We do a lot of talking about walking on Good Day DC, specifically Tucker Barnes' walk from the couch to his weather wall.

Over the next several weeks, some special guests will make that walk with Tucker.

It is part of our effort to shine the light on a much more important walk, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk.

FOX 5 is a proud sponsor of the event to raise awareness and money to fight blood cancers.

Beth Gorman, executive director of the LLS's National Capital Area Chapter, had the honor of walking Tucker over to the wall Wednesday morning.

She told us they hope to raise $3 million at three local walks this year.

The family-friendly walks are two miles and a great opportunity for individuals and groups to support LLS, Gorman said.

The 2015 walk dates are:

- Saturday, October 3 - Reston Town Center, Reston, Virginia
- Saturday, October 10 - Rockville Town Square, Rockville, Maryland
- Saturday, October 17 - Freedom Plaza, Washington, D.C.
