Large barn fire in Montgomery County

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Montgomery County firefighters have contained a large barn fire in Gaithersburg Tuesday night.

The blaze started at around 7:15 p.m. at the Babble Brook Farm in the 7300 block of Damascus Road.

According to authorities, the barn was full of hay and no people or animals were injured.

With no hydrants in the area, firefighters had to drive in water tankers to help extinguish the fire.

Fire officials say the fire was accidental and likely from spontaneous combustion.

It is estimated the blaze caused over $250,000 in damage.
