Happy 69th birthday to the United States Air Force!

The most recent branch of the U.S. military, the United States Air Force was founded in 1947.

Joint Base Andrews has been a part of the Air Force since the beginning! Located just outside of Washington, D.C., the base serves as a very important role in our country's military operations. It is also probably best known for being the home base of the President's aircraft - Air Force One!

Formerly known as Andrews Air Force Base, a merger with the Naval Air Facility Washington gave it its new name.
