(FOX NEWS) - Rory Feek, of the country duo Joey + Rory, posted a heartbreaking update about his ailing wife, who has been battling cancer.

Rory Feek wrote that Joey Feek, 40, has been "asleep for days now and her body is shutting down quickly."

He said the singer's hospice nurse estimated she has only a few days left to live.

Before she fell asleep, Joey Feek pulled her 2-year-old daughter into her arms and said:
"…you be a big girl for your papa… and... mama will be watching over you".

She then kissed her child Indiana, who has Down syndrome.

"One last kiss," her husband wrote.

Rory Feek wrote his wife has no regrets.

"One of the last things Joey said before she drifted into the deep sleep she's been in for a few days now is, 'I have no regrets… I can honestly say, that I have done everything I wanted to do and lived the life I always wanted to live.'"

Rory Feek has been chronicling his wife's battle with cancer on their blog.

The pair gained fame as a country music duo. Joey Feek was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and in 2015 she informed fans that it had spread and she was stopping treatment.

Joey + Rory were nominated for a Grammy earlier this year. Their songs include "Cheater, Cheater" and "This Song's for You" with Zac Brown Band.
