Iconic Ellicott City clock recovered from Patapsco following flooding

Ellicott City's iconic clock has been recovered, officials say, following the devastating flooding on Sunday that ripped the town apart for the second time in two years.

The clock was recovered on Saturday, found by Geoff and Mark Haver from Ellicott City, Howard County officials say.

The Havers found the frame and part of the face of the iconic clock in the Patapsco River. The clock was installed last July, replacing the one that was swept away and recovered from the July 2016 floods.

Dozens of business, which were newly restored from the prior flooding were destroyed. One man, Eddison Hermond, from Severn, died while trying to rescue a woman from the rising waters. His body was swept away by the current and found on Wednesday.
