Ice cream truck driver shot in DC

WASHINGTON - D.C. police are investigating the shooting of an ice cream truck driver in Southeast D.C. Monday evening.

Police said they received a call about the shooting in the 2200 block of Alabama Avenue at around 6:15 p.m.

According to police sources, the victim was shot seven times -- at least three times in the stomach and twice in the arm. As he was being shot at, the driver continued to drive away from a residential street to a small strip mall on Alabama Avenue.

The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
