Howard University PhD student reported missing in Virginia days before graduation

Police in Virginia are searching for a missing PhD student last seen on his way to his university to pick up graduation information.

33-year-old Lance Calvin Buckley was reported missing after family members say they dropped him off at the Staffordboro Commuter Lot Tuesday morning around 8 a.m.

Buckley usually ‘slugs' his way to Howard University and was on his way to pick up a packet for his graduation that is scheduled for this Saturday.

Buckley's wife told police she received a text from him around 10:16 a.m. Tuesday, however, he did not report for a 12 p.m. meeting at the university.

Family members say that since his text message to his wife, they have not heard from Buckley and that it is out of character for him not to contact them.

Lance Calvin Buckley is a white male, 5'11'', 150 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark colored t-shirt and gray Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.
