Ga. Officer Helps Injured Marathon Runner Cross Finish Line
SAVANNAH, Ga. - A Georgia police officer is making national headlines Monday morning for helping an injured marathon runner cross the finish line in Savannah over the weekend.
Runner Robert McCoy was about a half mile away from the finish line in the "Rock 'n' Roll" marathon when he fell. Refusing to quit, officer John Cain, a 27-year veteran, came to his aid and helped him out.
It's a moment the officer says he'll never forget.
