Former Mayor Vincent Gray reportedly assaulted by bouncer during Art All Night event

Former Mayor and Council Member Vincent Gray was reportedly "physically assaulted" at a Northeast DC bar Saturday night, according to his Chief of Staff.

Council Member Gray was reportedly at an Art All Night event Saturday at The DC Eagle when the incident occurred.

FOX5's Marina Marraco spoke with Vincent Gray's Chief of Staff, who says the bouncer at the DC Eagle asked Gray for his ID. However, when Gray presented it, the bouncer then asked for ID with his date of birth.

The bouncer then reportedly pushed Gray out, who then lost his balance and fell, according to his Chief of Staff.

Gray went to the 6th District Police Station and made a formal statement.

It is still unclear if Gray will press charges for assault.

DC Eagle managers released a statement to FOX 5 via email on Sunday:

"Councilmember Gray did attempt to enter the DC Eagle last night, but refused to provide proper identification to our door staff after being asked for it several times, as required by DC law. He asked to see an owner and was told he would have to wait outside."
